Find both the x and y intercepts for these two equations

(a) y=5x+3

(b) y=x^2+4x+4

Hint: try plugging in x and y respectively as 0 to get the various intercepts.

For the first equation,

I used the slope intercept form y=mx+b, where m is the slope and b is the y-intercept, to get the y-intercept as 3. I then substitued 0 in for y to get the x-intercept as -3/5

For the second equation,

I used the quadratic function form y=ax^2+bx+c, where c is the y-interecept and -b/2a is the x-intercept. Thus, I got 4 as the y-intercept and -2 as the x-intercept.

Therefore,

1. x-intercept = -3/5
y-intercept = 3

2. x-intercept = -2
y-intercept = 4
