Then we count the bottom row, and find there are 12 solutions.

Alternatively, we can set this problem up with algebra. To find the number of choices in a problem like this, you just multiply the number of choices together, so:
3 x 2 x 2 = 12
Therefore, there are 12 decisions.

12 because Mangesh has 3 jackets and 2 shirts and 2 pants. 3*2*2=12.
